Mimicking the shapes and fluidity of seaweeds, six unique magnetic forms cut in metallic coloured steel cover the largest of the Vipp bins in polished steel with a hint of iron to render the surface magnetic. Available in a limited number exclusively on Vipp.com and in Vipp Home Copenhagen from 16 May 2024.
An everyday object turns into a playground when a functional product like the Vipp pedal bin meets the world of wonder brought forth by Italian artist, Alice Ronchi.
The organic and coloured shapes add a refined playfulness to a stoic seriousness of a design classic. 1 mm thick and fitted with magnets upholstered with a backside of soft felt for surface protection, the colourful shapes provide an extra dimensional layer to the object while the steel surface offers and illusory dimension of depth through the mirrored surroundings.
"I have always been fascinated by organic shapes because they dialogue with something natural and primitive that resonates with all of us; they silently connect us with nature."
