Throughout the apartment, works from the gallery are presented together with Vipp interiors and products, creating a natural interplay between art and design. Rather than being presented as a separate exhibition, artworks are woven into the interior. They sit above kitchen modules, beside furniture and within the daily rhythm of the apartment. Like the Vipp collection, the artworks are available for purchase.
“The interplay between art and design has been an integral aspect of von Bartha’s heritage since the gallery’s founding in Basel 56 years ago. Part of our ongoing success has been having the courage to interrogate our company model and, with an open dialogue between our team and artists, to question the gallery’s purpose and relevance. von Bartha’s ambition is to be a gallery that does not feel like any other gallery you have visited before, and through our exciting new partnership with Vipp we have the opportunity to evolve this passion further, whilst presenting our programme in dialogue with Vipp’s furniture and interiors.”

In contrast to the muted palette of the open living room, the bathroom introduces colour through pale rose marble flooring and golden-brown tiles lining the shower, adding warmth to the otherwise light plastered walls and white ceiling. A custom Vipp bathroom module in dark oak, developed specifically for the apartment, sits alongside the complete Vipp bathroom accessory collection.
