During 3daysofdesign 2025 Vipp unveiled a limited-edition pedal bin in a special copper finish designed by Parisian design duo Studio KO. A Danish design icon dating back to 1939, this special edition echoes the material palette of Studio KO’s ephemeral Vipp guesthouse and reflects the studio’s appreciation of materials with deep narratives and warm nuances. To purchase please contact info@vipp.com or your nearest Vipp store.
Studio KO has infused as sense of warmth into Vipp’s minimal aesthetic using the material to reimagine the Vipp V1 kitchen and the classic bin, giving both an entirely new character. This is the first time in its 86-year history that the Vipp bin has been outfitted with a copper coating.
“My grandfather was a copper smith and had a workshop in the provincial town of Randers, Denmark. I still have a few of his copper pieces. Seeing my father’s bin wrapped in my grandfather’s trademark material feels like the circle is complete.” – Jette Egelund, 2nd generation Vipp-owner.
“It’s both warm and cold - cold due to the metal, warm because of its colour. And the tension between these qualities is what interests us, as it illustrates the idea of an encounter between seemingly opposing forces”.
KARL FOURNIER, CO-FOUNDER OF STUDIO KO
