Stone – a hard, solid, non-metallic, mineral matter of which rock is made. At Vipp, limestone and marble are a recurring material choice in our furniture designs. The visual expression of both type of stone tells the tale of million of years of natural processing. Veins, fossils, and colour shades are the result of peculiar geological conditions and guarantee that no stones are identical.

Sky grey bush hammered marble

The grey stone has a lot of unique details, like white veins, red marks from iron and minerals, as well as lighter or darker “dust/sprinkles”. The stone has shades of grey varying from al¬most white to dark grey. Fossils and other natural marks are often seen which gives the stone a nice play of colours.

Finish: Bush hammered meaning lots of white spots and intended dents in the surface sealed with natural impregnation slightly enhancing the color yet leaving a protected surface. The marble is hammered to break the top layer of the stone, creating a less uniform surface with small pockets and gaps, making each tabletop very distinctive.

As a natural stone, each piece of marble is unique with distinguished marks, veins, and spots.

Jura Grau Blau limestone

Jura Grau Blau limestone

In the Alp region of Bavaria, ocean sediments have shaped ‘Jura’, a dense, fine-grained limestone rich in fossils. The Grau Blau Jura is characterized by a rustic appearance that spans in hues from warm, golden tones to cold, grey tones. Glass veins can appear as cracks but are simply a natural characteristic of the stone.

Finish : Honed (matte), sealed with natural impregnation slightly enhancing the colour yet leaving a matte protected surface.

Expected surface characteristics : As a natural stone, each piece is unique.

Available on: Cabin round table Ø130 and Cabin round table Ø150.

The stone has shades of grey varying from light grey to dark grey. Fossils and other natural marks are often seen which gives the stone a nice play.

Finish: Honed (matte) and sealed with natural impregnation slightly enhancing the colour yet leaving a protected and matte surface. As the Vipp Ocean grey tabletop is made from natural stone, no two pieces are the same. Each marble top has a unique visual expression.
