Marble and Stone
Stone – a hard, solid, non-metallic, mineral matter of which rock is made. At Vipp, limestone and marble are a recurring material choice in our furniture designs. The visual expression of both type of stone tells the tale of million of years of natural processing. Veins, fossils, and colour shades are the result of peculiar geological conditions and guarantee that no stones are identical.
Characteristics
Black marble
The black stone is defined by a dark grey/black surface with white stripes (veins) and “dust/sprinkle”. The stone can have white clouds and black shades. Depending on the density, it can have some cracks which should be filled with epoxy to strengthen it.
Finish : Honed (matte), sealed with natural impregnation slightly enhancing the colour yet leaving a matte protected surface.
