“Its rich history and setting in the Austrian Alps made it a natural next chapter in our evolving guesthouse story.”
– Kasper Egelund, CEO and third-generation Vipp owner
In 2020, local architects gently renovated the house with reverence for its original structure and historical details. Existing frames were preserved, and the exterior remains true to its Alpine roots, with a shingled roof and sage-green shutters. New timber and steel additions honour the past while introducing contemporary touches. Thick outer walls insulate against harsh Alpine winters, while wooden interiors add warmth and echo the surrounding forested landscape. Though nestled in the village valley, the house opens onto scenic views of the mountains beyond.

Montafon offers year-round activities shaped by the seasons. In winter, the valley is known for its reliable snow conditions, with access to cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowboarding across five ski areas: Golm, Silvretta Montafon, Silbertal–Kristberg, Gargellen, and Silvretta–Bielerhöhe. The largest interconnected ski area, Silvretta Montafon, offers over 150 km of slopes and a well-developed lift system. Popular nearby skiing destinations such as St. Anton am Arlberg and Lech are around 45 minutes by car from the guesthouse.
In warmer months, the landscape opens for hiking, cycling, and exploring the villages scattered along the valley floor, revealing a quieter side of Montafon beyond the slopes.

Vipp guesthouses are a self-service concept offering experiences and essentials. Our rooms are spread out at various locations, so we do not have a reception or a concierge. You won't find a 24-hour lobby, a gym, daily housekeeping, or fitness facilities. Instead, we offer tailored and curated design destinations out of the ordinary, filled with Vipp's take on design. A part of the experience of our destinations is to engage with the interior of our rooms.
