A CONTEMPORARY GUESTHOUSE FOR WAVE-HUNTERS AND SLOW-LIVING ENTHUSIASTS
On a 9900 m² piece of land in Thy National Park, a solitary cottage appears in the horizon of an untamed coastal landscape. Without any neighbours in sight in the tiny town of Vangså, it secluded endless plains of Leymus seem to have no beginning or end. From a distance, the building resembles a classic fisherman’s cottage but when approaching, guests are met by a 185 m² geometric forms and repeating silhouettes revealing a stunning structure that blends seamlessly into the landscape and is striking in its simplicity.

A well-appointed Vipp V3 kitchen occupies the heart of the living area and unfolds in a large island of 6 units accompanied by a backdrop of customized tall cabinets in oak.

The ‘Lineated Luminary’ wall carpet by local artist Rasmus Søndergaard Johanssen is integrated on both sides of a custom oak wardrobe set in the high-ceilinged entrance hall. Doubling as room divider, the wardrobe screens off the dining area consisting of a large Vipp Cabin table paired with a new variant of the Swivel chair in a dark sand textile upholstery.
At the end of the white-washed corridor a ceramic piece by the Parisian artist Bénédicte Vallet depicts a shark’s jaw wide open.

Layout of the space
The Vipp Cold Hawaii is a two-storey house with three double bedrooms, two of which include an integrated special-made bunk bed for extra sleeping space, a utility room, two bathrooms, and a combined living area and kitchen.

Cooking
Our guesthouse doesn’t have a restaurant or roomservice, but the Vipp kitchen is just waiting to be used. You can find all the tools you need to prepare a lovely meal in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. We recommend that you stock up on groceries in the supermarket ‘SPAR’ in Klitmøller or ‘MENY’ in Vorupør, a 5-10-minute drive from the guesthouse.

The waves in Klitmøller attracts surfers from around the world, however horse riding and mountain bike enthusiasts as well as nature and action aficionados will fall in love with Denmark’s largest national park, Thy.

Restaurants
The recently awarded Michelin restaurant ‘Tri’ in Agger (35km drive) is worth a visit and on the other end of the dining spectrum you can hang with the local surf crowd at Le Garage in Klitmøller.
Also, a trip to Hanstholm for a visit at the local restaurant Hanstholm Madbar or Bistro 123 in Vorupør is recommendable.

Getting there
The closest international airport to Vipp Beach House in Cold Hawaii is in Aalborg (AAL), 90 minutes away by car. International arrivals include direct flights from New York City (EWR), London (STN), Amsterdam (AMS), and of course the Danish capital city Copenhagen (CPH).
If spending a night in Aalborg, Denmark’s fourth largest city, visit the Utzon Center, honoring the memory of the famed Danish architect behind Sydney Opera House. The coastal stretch of Western Jutland has a string of architectural landmarks such as the WWII bunker Tirpitz by BIG and the Wadden Sea Centre by architect Dorte Mandrup. An outpost of Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK), The Danish National Museum can also be found in Thy.

A self-service concept
Vipp guesthouses are a self-service concept offering experiences and essentials. Our rooms are spread out at various locations, so we do not have a reception or a concierge. You won't find a 24-hour lobby, a gym, daily housekeeping, or fitness facilities. Instead, we offer tailored and curated design destinations out of the ordinary, filled with Vipp's take on design. A part of the experience of our destinations is to engage with the interior of our rooms. Every room is equipped with a kitchen just waiting to be used, so when you have done your grocery shopping, start cooking and enjoy.
Should you have questions or need assistance, a member of the Vipp team will be standby during your stay to assist you.
Reservations and cancellations
All bookings at the Vipp guesthouses are non-refundable. If you cannot make it for your booked reservation, we do offer the option of changing the date of your stay according to availability. A second cancellation cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
Methods of payment
Full pre-payment by credit card or bank transfer at the time of reservation. A valid credit card is required to confirm your booking.
Cancellation policy
All pre-paid bookings are non-refundable.
Vacating rooms
Rooms should be vacated in the same state and condition as they were at the time of check-in. Vipp obtains the right to demand a refund of any damaged or otherwise compromised interior.
Late check-out can be requested upon reservation and is subject to a late check-out fee of EUR 75,00. Vipp reserves the right to decline requests for late checkout.

No pets allowed.
Smoking
Vipp guesthouses are smoke-free property (including e-cigarettes), and all guest rooms and public areas are designated as such. A smoking fee of 2000 euro per day will be assessed if evidence of smoking is found in your room or on the premises.
