As a self-taught photographer, Gao navigated both imposter syndrome and the steep learning curve of technical skills in still life photography. Over time, she shifted her focus toward defining the creative vision and mood, learning to communicate that clearly to her techs and assistants.
Travels to new-to-her places have become the fuel for her personal photography – this time Vipp Todos Santos, where dusty deserts, vivid colours, and everyday moments unfolded through her lens.
