“We are very excited to open this new space. It is a home and a playground that we look forward to sharing.”

Like a raw gem shaped by dedication and honed craft, the Danish jewellery house, Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen has been sculpted by the Lynggaard family for over sixty years. Each generation has added its own brilliance to a brand that now shimmers beyond its Danish origin. Once a modest goldsmith’s atelier in Denmark is today a 3rd generation fine jewellery house with global radiance.
The Ole Lynggaard Apartment is a creative streak by the mother-daughter duo, 2nd and 3rd generation jewellery designers Charlotte Lynggaard and Sofia Lynggaard Normann, whose creative acumen stretches beyond that of jewellery design. From the apartment balcony, you can look across the courtyard into the goldsmith workshop, where craftsmanship has thrived since Ole Lynggaard founded the company in 1963.
“Before the transformation of the space, we had a classic kitchen, but we were on the lookout for something different. Choosing Vipp’s metal kitchen was about displaying another kind of craft - one that automatically shapes a surprising dialogue with the other interior details in the apartment.”

The free-standing kitchen island wrapped in anodized aluminium brings an industrial edge to a softer, bohemian universe. Vertically extruded profiles curving around the edges add a light elegance to the metallic appearance, which offers a harmonious juxtaposition to the custom wood cabinetry encircling the kitchen island.
Charlotte Lynggaard joined the family company in 1987 as a goldsmith apprentice. A love for colourful gemstones has inspired her collections including The Lotus Collection, The Wild Rose Collection and The BoHo Collection. The designs are also a testament to her fascination with playful colour palettes that she applies to her various artistic streaks from designing to drawing and painting to sculpting.
In 2024, Sofia Lynggaard Normann, first grandchild of founder Ole Lynggaard, introduced her debut collections Young Fish and Under the Sea interpreting the essence of what hides beneath the surface. A wall in her office is composed of her sketches of avian animals and a wax sculpture of a bird perched on the desk made together with her father confirm her shift toward ontology. Soon awaiting her first child, Sofia finds herself increasingly drawn to nesting species which will inform an upcoming collection that reflects a new phase of life and design.
“My mother and I don’t design jewellery collections together. We appreciate that we can develop distinct universes under the umbrella of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, yet with a shared legacy in craftsmanship and artistry. But creating this apartment was a joint project that we were both highly passionate about. Creating a home takes time. This is an evolving space with personality, where guests can hopefully get inspired.”
