Design retreat in Brittany
Plévenon, France
By extending a classic Breton stone house with a giant glass cube, nature takes the lead role among the vast line-up of modern interior in this summer residence.
Jean-Luc, owner and architect
'We wanted to keep the interior in subtle colours not to distract attention from nature. So, the matte, black Vipp kitchen was ideal.'

Meet the kitchen
The Vipp kitchen was chosen by its owner, architecht Jean-Luc, who resides in Paris. 'As an architect, I'm passionate about high-quality materials, and I couldn't resist the 4 mm solid stainless steel countertop,' Jean-Luc explains.

Bon appetit
The Brittany region is a mecca for fine seafood, and even though it takes 30 minutes along crooked ways, the owners always buy fish and seafood freshly caught by a local family from their own boat in the village of Saint Cast.

Living in the woods
The 200 m2 house covers two floors with two bathrooms, four bedrooms and an open kitchen and living space, where a panorama view to the forest gives the notion of 'living in the woods' a whole new meaning. Natural light floods in everywhere, even in the bathroom.
